Planning Research
The Planning Department’s Research Section collects and analyzes data on demographics, housing, land use, and the economy to support community planning and programs. The Research Section also updates population, housing, and employment forecasts in coordination with the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and is the primary liaison to the U.S. Census Bureau in support of the decennial censuses, the American Community Surveys, and other programs.
