M-NCPPC Chairman Darryl Barnes Announces Inaugural Meeting for Youth Advisory Council


LARGO, MD – Chairman Darryl Barnes of the Prince George’s County Planning Board of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) invites young residents of Prince George’s County to attend the inaugural meeting of the Chairman Barnes’ Youth Advisory Council this month to learn about M-NCPPC, share their perspectives on community needs and interests, and help shape the future of parks, planning, and recreation programming in the County.

Youth voices are important to guiding the agency in building inclusive, innovative, and responsive community spaces. This forum will provide a platform for students, ages 12 – 16, to directly impact the direction of local initiatives. Service-learning hours will be available for students who participate.
