Project Concepts & Destination Sites Details
Village Green
The Village Green site, along a highly visible corner at Suitland and Silver Hill Roads, is positioned to serve as a welcoming gateway into the community. In the vision drafted by the community, this prominent location is reimagined as an active cultural gathering space that establishes a sense of arrival, reinforces neighborhood identity, and creates a destination for shared creative and social experiences throughout the year. The current Welcome to Suitland Sign will be elevated with a new, monument sign featuring metal letters, a mosaic installation with a welcoming message, and lighting.

Suitland Art Walk
The Suitland Art Walk is envisioned to create a connected, safe, and interesting pedestrian experience leading residents and visitors from the Suitland Metro Station to Suitland High School away from the busy traffic of Silver Hill Road. The Art Walk will connect future destinations sites to one another, increasing walkability along the corridor. The Art Walk will feature pavement murals, artist–designed banners, rotating sculptures, and Creative Crosswalks to be installed over time.

Suitland Water Tower
The Suitland Water Tower will feature eight (8) art banners designed by Suitland High School’s CVPA students and lighting illuminating the public art. In the future, this site will be transformed a destination featuring a playscape, additional seating, community garden, shelter for outdoor events, and expanded parking.

Towne Center
As a part of ongoing development in the Suitland area, the Prince George’s County Redevelopment Authority is constructing a large public greenspace for community events within the Towne Square at Suitland Federal Center development. The space will host future public events such as farmers market, movie nights, concerts and will feature public art installations.
