Community Celebration Showcases Upcoming Projects and Creative Placemaking in Suitland

LARGO, Md. – The M-NCPPC Prince George’s County Planning Department, in partnership with local partnering agencies, will host “The Future is Suitland Celebration,” a vibrant, community event highlighting upcoming and future projects shaping the Suitland Road–Silver Hill Road corridor. The celebration will feature live entertainment, hands‑on art activities, local artisans, food trucks, and presentations on major placemaking and mixed‑use development initiatives.

Attendees will experience a dynamic preview of the Suitland Cultural Arts Implementation Strategy, Creative Suitland Redevelopment, and Towne Square at Suitland Federal Center—projects designed to elevate arts, culture, and community life in the area.

Event highlights include:

  • Short presentations on key Suitland redevelopment and cultural arts initiatives
  • DJ Jai Syncere and live music by Symphony Kids of the Prince George’s Philharmonic
  • Dance performances by Rare Jewelz and Shay Dance Fierce
  • Spoken word performances
  • Tie‑dyeing with Arts on a Roll
  • Interactive art activities
  • Art Market featuring 20+ local vendors
  • Local food trucks
  • Giveaways
