M-NCPPC Prince George’s County Planning Board and Department Announce May 2025 Events and Meetings

LARGO, MD – The Prince George’s County Planning Board and the Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) announce their upcoming public events and meetings for May 2025. Prince George’s County Planning Board Meetings

The Prince George’s County Planning Board meets on Thursdays to consider planning, zoning, subdivision, and other matters within its jurisdiction. The meetings may be viewed in person at the M-NCPPC Largo Headquarters and via live streaming video. Public participation is encouraged. Everyone who wishes to speak virtually at the Planning Board meeting must register online by noon on the Tuesday, two days prior to the Planning Board meeting. On-site registration to speak at in-person meetings will be available, however advance registration is strongly encouraged. Written comments, documents, and exhibits must be received via email, hand delivery, or mail by noon on the Tuesday before the Planning Board meeting to be included in the record. Subdivision and Development Review Committee Meeting

Subdivision and Development Review Committee (SDRC) is a coordination and interagency meeting early in the development review process with the applicant and M-NCPPC staff, where the public can be invited to virtually view the meeting only. The meetings are held virtually and may be viewed via live streaming video. The agendas are posted online.

Discover Bostwick Community Event

Saturday, May 3 | noon – 3 p.m.

Bostwick House, 3901 48th Street, Bladensburg, MD 20710

The Prince George’s County Planning Department will join the Town of Bladensburg for an interactive placemaking demonstration and event. Community members are invited to explore the historic site, share ideas for its future, relax and enjoy live music and other festivities. Brown Bag Lunch Series: Urban Design Applications

Tuesday, May 13 | noon – 1 p.m.

The Prince George’s County Planning Department will host a monthly Brown Bag Series covering various Development Review topics at the M-NCPPC Largo Headquarters. The session on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, will cover Zoning and Urban Design Applications in Prince George’s County. Register at least a week in advance at https://pgplan.org/brownbag.

Bike to Work Day

Thursday, May 15 | 6:30 – 8:30 a.m.

The Prince George’s County Planning Department will join organizations across the Washington Metropolitan area in observing Bike to Work Day. The annual initiative promotes cycling as quiet, clean, and a viable transportation mode as well as encourages bicycling as a fun and healthy commuter option. Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission

Tuesday, May 20 | 6:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Prince George’s County Planning Department, the Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission meeting will be held virtually on the third Tuesday of the month. Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Reception

Organized by M-NCPPC, the Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission, and other local heritage organizations, the annual Historic Preservation Reception will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Newton White Mansion, 2708 Enterprise Road, Mitchellville, MD 20721. This event is free of charge for all attendees. Registration is required to attend. RSVP by May 15 via email to historicpreservation@ppd.mncppc.org.

M-NCPPC Full Commission Meeting

Wednesday, May 21 | 10 a.m.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will hold its Full Commission meeting in a hybrid format from the Parks and Recreation Administration Building in Riverdale and via video conference. Agenda packets will be available online.
