M-NCPPC Prince George’s County Planning Board and Department Announce February 2025 Events and Meetings

LARGO, MD – The Prince George’s County Planning Board and the Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) announce their upcoming public events and meetings for February 2025. Prince George’s County Planning Board Meetings

Thursday, February 6 | 10 a.m.

The Prince George’s County Planning Board meets virtually on Thursdays to consider planning, zoning, subdivision, and other matters within its jurisdiction. The meetings may be viewed via live streaming video. Public participation is encouraged either through a phone bridge or by using GoTo Meeting. Everyone who wishes to speak at the Planning Board meeting must register online by Noon on the Tuesday, two days prior to the Planning Board meeting. Written comments, documents, and exhibits must be received via email, fax, or mail by Noon on the Tuesday before the Planning Board meeting to be included in the record. Subdivision and Development Review Committee Meeting

Subdivision and Development Review Committee (SDRC) is a coordination and interagency meeting early in the development review process with the applicant and M-NCPPC staff, where the public can be invited to virtually view the meeting only. The meetings are held virtually and may be viewed via live streaming video. The agendas are posted online.

Suitland Cultural Arts Implementation Strategy – Community Design Charette

Thursday, February 6 | 6 – 8:30 p.m.

The Prince George’s County Planning Department will host a community design charette to identify ways to center cultural arts in spaces around Suitland. The three-day charette for the Suitland Cultural Arts Implementation Strategy will be held on Thursday, February 6 from 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 7 from 3-5 p.m., and Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Suitland Community Center, 5600 Regency Lane, District Heights, MD 20747. Through fast-paced, collaborative sessions, charette participants will provide input on new and existing spaces where creative arts and placemaking projects can enhance the community. Community Forums on Annapolis Road and Kenilworth Avenue

Saturday, February 8 | Annapolis Road: 9:30 a.m. – noon | Kenilworth Avenue: 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

M-NCPPC Prince George’s County Planning Department will join Councilmanic District 3, Office of Councilmember Eric C. Olson, for two community forums focused on shaping the future of Annapolis Road and Kenilworth Avenue corridors. The Annapolis Road discussion will take place at West Lanham Hills Community Center, 7700 Decatur Road, Hyattsville, MD 20784. The Kenilworth Avenue discussion will take place at St. Bernard’s Church, 5700 Saint Bernard Drive, Riverdale, MD 20737 in the gymnasium. Brown Bag Lunch Series: Transportation Review Guidelines

The Prince George’s County Planning Department will host a monthly Brown Bag Series covering various Development Review topics at the M-NCPPC Largo Headquarters. Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission

Tuesday, February 18 | 6:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Prince George’s County Planning Department, the Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission meeting will be held virtually on the third Tuesday of the month. M-NCPPC Full Commission Meeting

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will hold its Full Commission meeting in a hybrid format from the M-NCPPC Headquarters in Wheaton and via video conference. Agenda packets will be available online.
