M-NCPPC Prince George’s County Planning Board and Department Announce December 2024 Events and Meetings
LARGO, MD – The Prince George’s County Planning Board and the Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) announce their upcoming public events and meetings for December 2024. Prince George’s County Planning Board Meetings
Thursday, December 5 | 10 a.m.

The Prince George’s County Planning Board meets virtually on Thursdays to consider planning, zoning, subdivision, and other matters within its jurisdiction. The meetings may be viewed via live streaming video. Public participation is encouraged either through a phone bridge or by using GoTo Meeting. Everyone who wishes to speak at the Planning Board meeting must register online by Noon on the Tuesday, two days prior to the Planning Board meeting. Written comments, documents, and exhibits must be received via email, fax, or mail by Noon on the Tuesday before the Planning Board meeting to be included in the record. Subdivision and Development Review Committee Meeting

Subdivision and Development Review Committee (SDRC) is a coordination and interagency meeting early in the development review process with the applicant and M-NCPPC staff, where the public can be invited to virtually view the meeting only. The meetings are held virtually and may be viewed via live streaming video. The agendas are posted online.
Brown Bag Lunch Series: Woodland Conservation and Tree Canopy Ordinance

The Prince George’s County Planning Department will host a monthly Brown Bag Series covering various Development Review topics at the M-NCPPC Largo Headquarters. Central US 1 Neighborhood Compatibility Study Community Meeting

The Prince George’s County Planning Department will host a community meeting to gather feedback on the initial design strategies and recommendations developed during the October 2024 charrette meetings. Residents and stakeholders are invited to review the recommendations and provide input on redevelopment opportunities, streetscape and transportation improvements, open spaces, and economic prosperity initiatives. Environmental Technical Manual Updates – Public Meeting
This meeting has been postponed. Details on the rescheduled meeting will be announced at a later date.

With the recent passage of the updated Woodland and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Ordinance (CB-20-2024) and Subdivision Regulations concerning Environmental Strategy Areas (CB-022-2024) by the Prince George’s County Council, the Prince George’s County Planning Department will host a virtual public information session on December 12, 2024 to inform residents and community stakeholders of changes to the Environmental Technical Manual. An overview of revisions to many definitions, processes, conservation requirements, and items related to environmental impacts with development in the County. Participants will learn how to prepare environmentally related plans and documents for submission according to County Code.
Winter Market at University Town Center – Placemaking Demonstration

The Prince George’s County Planning Department will join the City of Hyattsville and community partners for a placemaking demonstration on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Independence Plaza located on America Blvd in Hyattsville. The Winter Market at University Town Center will feature music, vendors, and art activities. Through placemaking, residents and stakeholders can reimagine Independence Plaza and experience the potential opportunities in the heart of the town center.
Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission

Hosted by the Prince George’s County Planning Department, the Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission meeting will be held virtually on the third Tuesday of the month. M-NCPPC Full Commission Meeting

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will hold its Full Commission meeting in a hybrid format from the M-NCPPC Headquarters in Wheaton and via video conference. Agenda packets will be available online.
