Prince George’s County Planning Department Hosts Final Community Interactive Open House for the
Port Towns Sector Plan and Sectional Map Amendment
LARGO, MD — The Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will host its final community interactive open house for the Port Towns Sector Plan and Sectional Map Amendment (SMA) on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Cottage City Town Hall. This will be the last opportunity for residents and community stakeholders to contribute input before the plan is drafted for public review and comments.
The Port Towns Sector Plan and SMA project re-examines the Port Towns area – which includes Bladensburg, Colmar Manor, Cottage City, and Edmonston – for redevelopment possibilities through the lens of zoning, land use, market conditions, and environmental constraints. During the interactive open house, residents, property owners and stakeholders will participate in activities and learn about the insights gathered from community engagement since fall of 2023. The project team will also present the final vision and renderings for opportunity sites, based on the feedback received. For more details on the project, visit: https://pgplan.org/porttowns.
