February is National Heart Health Month
Give your heart a little TLC by celebrating National Heart Health Month. Each February, we raise awareness about heart health and urge residents to lower their risk for developing heart disease by making healthy changes. Controlling and preventing risk factors is also important for people who already have heart disease.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United States. In Prince George’s County, heart disease is the leading cause of death and accounts for about one-fourth of all deaths.
Throughout February enjoy a variety of FREE virtual healthy cooking demonstrations and in-person fitness activities.
