The People, Places, and Politics of Prince George’s County

Mr. Thompson will provide a sweeping history of the political landscape of Prince George’s County, tracing the social and economic forces—as well as the key personalities—that have transformed the County and its role in Maryland affairs from the seventeenth century to the present day.

Planners will benefit from this event by gaining a better understanding of the communities they serve, particularly with respect to the socioeconomic and demographic forces that have shaped land use and development in different areas of Prince George’s County throughout its history.
