About Old Maryland Farm
Old Maryland Farm is a great place to learn about Maryland farm life! Visitors can interact with agricultural exhibits, farm animals like livestock, and display gardens to get a taste of real a farming experience. Interpretive programs for students visiting the farm are correlated to the Maryland State Curriculum for grades K-12.
Please note: Old Maryland Farm is NOT a petting zoo.
Volunteer Opportunities and Other Programs
Old Maryland Farm offer visitors of all ages a variety of volunteer opportunities related to animal care, greenhouse and garden maintenance, and visitor services. Other offerings include birthday parties, hay rides, and farm demonstrations.
Location/Directions
Located just a short walking distance from the miniature train station in Watkins Regional Park, Old Maryland Farm is an agricultural educational farm open to the public.
From the Capital Beltway (I-495), take Exit 15A, Central Avenue (Route 214) East. At third stoplight, turn right onto Watkins Park Drive (Route 193) South. Proceed 1 mile and turn right into Watkins Regional Park. After turning into Watkins Regional Park at the marquee sign, go straight at the stop sign, turn right; go 100 feet and take a left. At next stop sign, turn left into the playground parking lot. Walk the paved path next to the train and carousel that leads to the farm.
From Route 301, take the exit for Route 214 (Central Avenue) West. At third stoplight turn left onto Watkins Park Drive (Route 193) South. Go 1 mile, turn right onto Watkins Park Drive at the marquee sign. Go straight, at the stop sign, turn left into the playground parking lot. Walk the paved path next to the train and carousel that leads to the farm.
